About Keith Canter
While serving as Founder and CEO of First Community Mortgage, Keith Canter remains closely connected to both customers and employees by actively originating mortgage loans and working alongside the professionals he leads. His perspective as both a company leader and mortgage originator reflects his commitment to understanding today's lending environment and supporting the people who drive the company's success.
Keith founded First Community Mortgage (FCM) in 2002 after selling his company, Cambridge Equities, to First Community Bank of Tennessee. Since then, he has guided the company's growth through a steadfast commitment to customer service, community involvement, and creating opportunities for employees to thrive.
As CEO, Keith sets the vision and strategic direction for FCM, leading initiatives that support sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term success. His active involvement in loan origination underscores his belief that strong leadership is built on firsthand experience and an authentic understanding of the challenges and opportunities mortgage professionals face every day.
Keith is also Chairman of FCM Cares, Inc., FCM's employee-run charitable foundation that supports community programs and initiatives throughout the areas FCM serves. He volunteers with Second Harvest Food Bank and the American Red Cross and founded both the Andrew C. Rambo Memorial Scholarship at Middle Tennessee State University and the J.C. Gordon Scholarship at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology in Shelbyville.
